US invests new $2.6 billion in proxy war in Ukraine
Today the Pentagon revealed that the US will be sending a new package worth 2.6 million of military aid to Ukraine to fuel their forces in their war against Russia.
Today the Pentagon revealed that the US will be sending a new package worth 2.6 million of military aid to Ukraine to fuel their forces in their war against Russia.
"The United States will continue... to provide Ukraine with capabilities to meet its immediate battlefield needs and longer-term security assistance requirements," the Pentagon said in a statement.
The military aid package is reported to include ammunition for HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Sytems), artillery rounds, light weaponry, Patriot tank munitions, NASAMS (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems) defense systems, and Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles ammunition.

The bulk of the military assistance package ($2.1 billion) is sourced from Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds: which purchase weapons directly from the industries. The remaining half billion dollars are sourced from US stocks.

Earlier this week, Reuters announced in anticipation that the US will be sending a new military aid package to sustain the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe by funneling weapons to the Ukranian forces.

Earlier in February, the US approved a security package to Ukraine amounting to $460 million.
The military aid included more ammunition for US-made equipment that already made it to Ukraine, as well as new equipment units, such as HIMARS and Howitzers rounds, Javelins, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars.
Also included were 155mm artillery rounds, 120mm mortar rounds, approximately 2,000 anti-armor missiles, and four Bradley Infantry Fire Support Team vehicles, spare parts, and other field equipment, the Pentagon stated then.
