US mulls deploying another aircraft carrier group to support 'Israel'
The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and its accompanying ships are expected by defense officials to arrive in the Middle East in around two weeks.
US defense officials revealed their intention to deploy a second aircraft carrier near occupied Palestine in support of the Israeli occupation, a major escalation in the United States military interference in the region as it seeks to support the occupation in its aggression on the Palestinian people.
The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, along with its accompanying ships, had been scheduled for deployment to the Middle East several months in advance.
These vessels are currently en route to the region and are anticipated to reach their destination in approximately two weeks, according to defense officials.
Adding to the mounting military presence in the region, the USS Gerald R. Ford, accompanied by a fleet that includes some ships with nuclear capabilities, is expected to arrive on the scene later this week, as indicated by defense officials. Notably, the Pentagon is presently considering whether the USS Eisenhower will replace the USS Ford or if both carrier groups will coexist in the region simultaneously. This decision has yet to be formally determined, The Wall Street Journal reported.
US aircraft carrier transfer increases escalating struggle: Moscow
Earlier, according to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Washington's transfer of the USS Gerald R. Ford, the Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS Normandy, and numerous destroyers increase the risk that things will escalate in the current situation in Palestine.
During a briefing on Tuesday, Zakharova expressed that "all this really raises suspicions that the situation is developing along the path of escalation and the risk of involving third countries in this conflict."
She explained that this comes with "long-term and very serious consequences" for the countries involved and for the global community.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revealed on Sunday, a day after the Palestinian Resistance initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Floods, that the Pentagon is moving ships and aircraft closer to the shores of occupied Palestine in support of "Israel".
Austin stated in the news release that in addition to Navy assets, he has made efforts to strengthen US Air Force F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the area.
Following the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood that the Palestinian Resistance launched on Saturday against continuous Israeli occupation violations, the White House has moved quickly to affirm US backing for "Israel", vowing "rock solid" support and warning other parties to stay out of the confrontation.
