US smuggles dozens of stolen oil tankers out of Syria
Sources have confirmed to the Syrian SANA agency that the US forces have smuggled a convoy of 50 tankers filled with oil, accompanied by several US armored vehicles, to Iraq.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on Thursday, that 50 US vehicles, including oil tankers and a military escort convoy, made their way out of Syria heading towards Iraq via crossings in the Al-Hasakah countryside.
According to unnamed special sources who spoke to SANA, a convoy of 35 vehicles, including 20 tankers loaded with stolen oil from the oil wells that the US occupation forces control in al-Jazeera, as well as several covered trucks, refrigerated trucks traveled through the unauthorized al-Waleed crossing to reach northern Iraq.
The sources added that "another convoy of 25 tanks loaded with Syrian oil stolen from the oil fields in Rmelan and Al-Shaddadi headed to Iraqi territory via the illegal Mahmoudiya crossing in the Yarubiyah countryside," in conjunction with the low flight of three US helicopters.
Earlier in the week, US occupation forces were seen smuggling 55 tankers filled with Syrian oil out of the country.
It is noteworthy that US occupation forces control about 90% of Syria’s oil-producing territory, depriving Syria of its most significant source of fuel and income.
