Leader of the French Eurosceptic political party The Patriots, Florian Philippot, says that American politicians are aiming to trigger a world war in Europe.

"Under pressure from American hawks, EU countries are going into a total delirium over the delivery of increasingly heavy weapons to [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky," Philippot said in a Twitter post, adding that "American hawks want a world war, in Europe!"

The US and several Western countries recently announced a new military package for Kiev, including battle tanks, armored infantry vehicles, and artillery systems.

The US Department of State said that Ukrainians could possess the capabilities to carry out strikes against Russian troops in Crimea thanks to weapons supplied by Washington.

The Biden administration announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth $2.5 billion, this time to include Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Stryker armored personnel carriers, sources reported on Thursday.

"This authorization, which is valued at up to $2.5 billion, is the Biden Administration’s thirtieth drawdown of equipment from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021. It contains hundreds of armored vehicles, critical support for Ukraine’s air defense and other important capabilities," a statement issued by the Pentagon said on Thursday.
