Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has a 91.5% staff turnover rate since assuming her role as US vice president in 2020, transparency NGO OpenTheBooks reported on Monday.

“As of March 31, 2024, only four of the initial 47 staffers from the first year are still employed – consistently and without interruption – by the vice president,” the group said, basing its findings on an analysis of the list of titles and names of the staff obtained from the Secretary of the Senate's bi-annual report.

The Hill, a political news outlet, reported in 2022 that 13 high-profile personnel left the vice president after serving her for less than a year.

"Burnout, better opportunities and concern about being permanently branded a ‘Harris person’," are the reasons that have been attributed to the newly-nominated presidential candidate's high turnover rate by Axios.

Biden drops out of 2024 race, endorses Harris

US President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump.

"While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term," Biden stated in a statement posted on X.

Biden also endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election. "Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year," he said, also via X.

Trump reacted to Biden's decision with harsh criticism, stating, "He will go down in US history as the worst president in history."
