W. House threatens to veto GOP backed standalone 'Israel' aid bill

On Monday, the Biden administration announced it would veto a standalone bill backed by House Republicans that would provide aid to "Israel," as it seeks to pass broader bill assisting Ukraine.
“The Administration strongly encourages both chambers of the Congress to reject this political ploy and instead quickly send the bipartisan Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act to the President’s desk,” the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement.
Over the weekend, US House Speaker Mike Johnson informed fellow House members that there would be a vote scheduled for this week on a standalone bill proposing $17.6 billion in aid for "Israel".
The Biden administration has been already planning for months with a bipartisan group of US senators to reach a deal on the national security supplemental bill that includes funds for "Israel".
Earlier on Sunday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the Biden administration opposes the recent House Republican bill, which aims to allocate $17.6 billion in security assistance to "Israel" without additional support for Ukraine.
