WCK's José Andrés says Israeli attack was deliberate, 'unforgivable'
José Andrés has further responded to the Israeli massacre of WCK aid volunteers, deeming it intentional, and calling for an independent investigation.
In an ABC interview aired on Sunday, World Central Kitchen's founder Chef José Andrés said "Israel's" targeted attack against seven of its aid personnel was "unforgivable".
Last week, Israeli occupation forces deliberately followed, targeted, and hit three WCK convoys, killing seven international aid volunteers preparing and delivering food to starving Gazans.
In their own defense, the IOF claimed the attack to be a war error and a "grave mistake stemming from a serious failure due to a mistaken identification, errors in decision-making, and an attack contrary to the Standard Operating Procedures."
However, Andrés insisted that the Israeli attack was deliberate. "The precision, the continuous following over 1.8 kilometers until the three cars were totally destroyed and all the members inside those three. Obviously, this was targeted," he reiterated.
In further talks with This Week co-anchor Martha Raddatz, the world-famous celebrity chef said he did not believe this was a war in "Israel's" defense, but one against humanity.
He expressed his thanks to the IOF for launching a quick probe, but questioned its integrity, calling for an independent investigation that could uncover more details and information surrounding the massacre and every other massacre entailing the killing of aid workers.
"I would say that the perpetrator cannot be investigating himself. I would say we need more information. We need to see better quality videos."
US arms sales continue
The Washington Post reported, citing three US officials, that the Biden administration approved the sales of arms and weapons to "Israel" on the same day that the WCK aid workers were killed by a targeted Israeli airstrike.
According to sources, the approval occurred prior to the murder of the WCK workers but was confirmed by the State Department after the killing had taken place.
White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby told This Week that an operational shift would have to be imposed in "Israel" to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
Providing updates on the investigation, Kirby said nothing has been concluded yet, and assured that "Israel" would have the adequate tools to defend itself and that it would be held accountable "for the way in which they're conducting these operations."
