Week-long drills for Russian Pacific fleet begin
More than 40 Russian vessels and up to 20 aircraft will be taking part in the drills.
According to Russian news outlets, Russia's Pacific Fleet has begun a week-long series of drills in which more than 40 ships and up to 20 planes will participate.
The drills, which will take place from June 3 to 10, will include, among other things, "groups of ships together with naval aviation taking part in search operations for (enemy) submarines."
The drills come three months into Russia's three-month military operation in Ukraine, hundreds of kilometers west of where the drills are taking place in the Pacific.
