According to Russian news outlets, Russia's Pacific Fleet has begun a week-long series of drills in which more than 40 ships and up to 20 planes will participate.
The drills, which will take place from June 3 to 10, will include, among other things, "groups of ships together with naval aviation taking part in search operations for (enemy) submarines."
The drills come three months into Russia's three-month military operation in Ukraine, hundreds of kilometers west of where the drills are taking place in the Pacific.
