The White House claimed a significant domestic terrorism conspiracy appears to be unfolding, as the Trump administration intensifies its law enforcement presence in cities experiencing surging crime and unrest.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller confirmed the existence of a broader criminal network tied to domestic terrorism. “Yes, there absolutely is,” Miller said when asked directly about a coordinated domestic terrorism conspiracy in the United States.
He cited the designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization as one example. “Of course, Antifa has been designated as a domestic terrorist organization. There's only one example of many in which we have,” Miller stated.
Miller linked recent violence against federal authorities to organized efforts aimed at undermining government institutions through illegal means.
In particular, he referenced ongoing attacks against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and facilities. “It's this continuum that we see over and over again,” Miller said, “where they're trying to use illegal violence and intimidation to disturb the operations of the federal government and federal personnel.”
National Guard deployed
Since early 2025, the Trump administration has escalated its deportation policies, leading to a rise in public anger and resistance.
National Guard troops have been deployed to several major cities, including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, and Memphis, as a move to allegedly restore order amid escalating violent crime.
Miller underscored that domestic terrorism is now being approached as a structured, ongoing threat that requires proactive intervention.
President Trump signed an executive order designating the anti-fascist Antifa movement as a domestic terrorist organization, a move presented as part of his administration's crackdown on what he claims is left-wing political violence.
