White House concerned speaker situation stalls aid to 'Israel'
Congressman Troy Nehls said that US House Majority Whip and Republican speaker-designate Tom Emmer does not have enough support among House Republicans to win the speakership in a floor vote.
According to White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, the current administration is worried a failure to elect a new speaker for the House of Representatives could mean a delay in $106 billion in funding.
US President Joe Biden is ramping up military aid to "Israel" to pave the way for a “swift, decisive and overwhelming” response against the Palestinian Resistance, as the White House is requesting an additional $14 billion in support from Congress - most of which is meant for weapons.
The American military claims to have prepared 2,000 personnel and a range of units on a heightened standby for potential deployment to "Israel". However, defense officials state that the forces are not intended to serve in combat roles and are tasked with advising and medical roles, but some could enter to support Israeli forces.
Kirby expressed during a briefing that it was a "concern," that aid could be delayed.
Congressman Troy Nehls claimed on Tuesday that US House Majority Whip and Republican speaker-designate Tom Emmer does not have enough support among House Republicans to win the speakership in a floor vote.
Nehls expressed "In the end, I think there were maybe 28 or so that stated they’re going to choose someone else other than Tom Emmer."
Nehls stated that he will nominate former President Donald Trump as floor speaker. However, Nehls stated that if Emmer received 216 votes, he would not oppose his candidacy.
