Women in Netherlands march on Mother's Day in support of Gaza mothers
Under the banner "Mothers against Genocide," women protest by the Mother and Child statue carrying baby dolls in bloody shrouds, while some mothers protested outside McDonald's, Starbucks and Burger King stores, chanting "Stop killing mothers" and "Mothers against bombs."
A march on Mother's Day in the Netherlands was witnessed in Binnenrotte Square in Rotterdam on Sunday, as Dutch mothers and their babies walked in support of Palestinian mothers in Gaza.
Under the banner "Mothers against Genocide," they walked until they reached the Mother and Child statue, carrying baby dolls in bloody shrouds, while some mothers protested outside McDonald's, Starbucks and Burger King stores as they chanted "Stop killing mothers" and "Mothers against bombs."

Dutch mother Shirley Stout participated with her baby and expressed solidarity, saying, "Every day, every hour, at least two mothers die there. Children die and are orphaned. They have lost their homes and security. How can we celebrate [Mother’s Day] here while mothers stand there with their dead children in their arms?"
She stressed the need to protest against genocide and boycott the financing of it.
"We are all human, we are all Palestinians, and they are all our children," she expressed, adding, "They are all our mothers. This is our future. This is her [Stout's daughter's] future. This is for our children. All children deserve to live free rather than under occupation."

More than 70% of victims are women and children
According to a UN Women study issued in January, the Israeli occupation has killed two mothers every hour in Gaza since it began its aggression on October 7.
UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous reported evidence that 70% of the victims in Gaza are women and children.
"These are people, not numbers, and we are failing them. That failure, and the generational trauma inflicted on the Palestinian people over these 100 days and counting, will haunt us all for generations to come," Bahous explained.
Then in March, a press release by UN Women showed that the Israeli occupation has killed more than 9,000 women in the besieged Strip.
The war on Gaza is estimated to be killing an average of 63 Palestinian women a day, half of whom are mothers.
