World leaders expressed their condemnation of the shooting at Trump's rally in Pennsylvania, wishing the former President a speedy recovery.

World leaders condemned the attack on Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, where the former president was shot in the ear. They expressed shock, denounced political violence, and extended wishes for his speedy recovery.

The Trump campaign provided an update stating that Trump, currently campaigning for reelection in November's US election, was reported to be "doing well." Meanwhile, the FBI identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, aged 20 and from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the individual involved in what they described as an attempted assassination.

A spokesperson for United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres denounced the shooting as an "act of political violence."

Japan

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida remarked, "We must stand resolute against any form of violence that undermines democracy."

We must stand firm against any form of violence that challenges democracy. I pray for former President Trump’s speedy recovery.

United Kingdom

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was "appalled by the shocking scenes" at the rally, adding that "Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that there was "no justification" for such violence.

He expressed relief that Trump was safe, and wished him a "speedy recovery."

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the shooting was "concerning and confronting."

The incident at former President Trump’s campaign event in Pennsylvania today is concerning and confronting. There is no place for violence in the democratic process.

Canada 

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the attack left him "sickened," adding that "Political violence is never acceptable."

Similar comments were also made by the leaders of the European Union, Egypt, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands and the Philippines.

France

"It is a tragedy for our democracies," French President Emmanuel Macron said of the shooting, adding that Paris "shares the shock and indignation of the American people."

Hungary

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who met Trump this week while visiting the US for a NATO summit, said his prayers were with the former president "in these dark hours."

Brazil

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called the shooting unacceptable while also urging others to condemn it. "The attack against former President Donald Trump must be vehemently repudiated by all defenders of democracy and dialogue in politics.
