World leaders congratulate Macron on his re-election
As Macron won the elections, again, with 58%, world leaders are rushing to congratulate the old-new French President.
Current French President Emmanuel Macron has won the 2022 French presidential elections, renewing his term after being elected as President in 2017.
Following his re-election, world leaders rushed to congratulate him.
Germany
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz congratulated French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Your voters have sent a strong vote of confidence in Europe today. I am happy that we will continue our good cooperation," Scholz posted on Twitter.
Italy
On his account, Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi has also rushed to congratulate Macron on his re-election.
"The victory of Emmanuel Macron in the French presidential election is great news for all of Europe," he said in a statement.
France and Italy will work with partners to build "a stronger, fairer Europe capable of acting independently to overcome the great challenges of our times, starting with the war in Ukraine", Draghi added.
"We are ready to work together immediately with ambition and determination to serve our countries and all European citizens."
United Kingdom
On his part, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson congratulated Emmanuel Macron on his re-election.
"France is one of our closest and most important allies," Johnson posted on Twitter.
"I look forward to continuing to work together on the issues which matter most to our two countries and to the world."
Spain
"The citizens have chosen a France committed to a free, strong and fair EU. Democracy wins. Europe wins," tweeted Spain's socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. "Congratulations Emmanuel Macron."

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said French voters had made a "strong choice", opting for "certainty and enlightenment values".
Ireland
Prime Minister Micheal Martin praised Macron's "principled and dynamic leadership" as "important not only for France, but for Europe."

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson sent her "warmest congratulations".

Norway
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said France had chosen "liberal democracy over the far-right".
Uniting the French and "taking courageous decisions for the climate," were important tasks ahead, he added, calling for closer cooperation in Europe and "unity against authoritarian forces and war".
EU
Furthermore, the European Union's two most senior officials applauded Macron’s victory in the presidential election.
"We can count on France for five more years," European Council President Charles Michel posted on Twitter.
"I am delighted to be able to continue our excellent cooperation," tweeted European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
UN bodies
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi sent his "warm congratulations" and said his organization would continue to count on Macron's support on the European and World stage "as humanitarian challenges and refugee crises become more serious and complex every day."

The French President won by 58%, while his opponent, Marine Le Pen, received a 42% of the voter turnout.
Although there was a relatively low voter turnout, the elections this year exhibited high competitiveness, with Macron projecting popularity among French citizens despite his neoliberal policies.
