In a letter sent to the Arab League Summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated the Arab countries on adopting a path of unity and self-development: in light of the recent Summit in Jeddah.

The Global Times reported that Xi praised the Arab League for its commitment to strengthening unity and promoting peace in the Arab world: expressing his happiness about the new achievements the League has taken on the path of unity and self-improvement which would foster general stability and development in the region.

Xi also specifically praised Saudi Arabia, which he described as a significant power in a multipolar world that played a positive role in developing solidarity and coordination between Arab states as well as maintaining peace in the Arab world.

The 32nd Arab League summit kicked off on Friday with Algerian Prime Minister Ayman Benabderrahmane delivering the opening remarks whereby he hailed Syria's return to the summit.

He also touched on the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza, stressing that the international community must put an end to the systematic attacks against Palestinians and the Israeli policy of settlement expansion.

He concluded by stressing that the role of the Arab League should be revived and its reform process should be accelerated.

This summit marks the return to the Arab League of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad after his country emerged victorious against the international war against it.
