Yemen marches continue for 32nd Friday amid regional escalation
Massive demonstrations across Yemen, including in Saada, Ma'rib, and Raymah, show unwavering support for Palestine, with Yemeni leaders emphasizing the legitimacy of the Palestinian Resistance and condemning Israeli aggression.
Provinces in Yemen, including Saada, Ma'rib, and Raymah, are witnessing massive demonstrations in support of the Palestinian people for the 32nd consecutive Friday. Today's protests are under the banner "With Gaza: Steadfast and in continued jihad."
In Saada, the central protest took place in al-Mawlid al-Nabawi Square west of the city, and multiple locations across various districts including al-Salem, al-Shaa'ra, Bani Sayah, al-Hijlah, and others.
Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, stated during the Saada march that Yemen's supportive operations for Gaza derive their legitimacy from the Quran, which mandates support for the oppressed.
Al-Houthi emphasized that Palestinian Resistance is a legitimate right, as is the right of Yemenis in their occupied territories. He addressed Americans, asserting that prolonging the aggression on Gaza would be futile, questioning how they expect to defeat the resistance now that it possesses artillery and rockets, unlike when it only had stones.
In Raymah, protests were held in various districts such as al-Jabin, Kusmah, Mazhar, and al-Ja'fariyah, among others in western Yemen.
In Ma'rib, demonstrations occurred in Sirwah, Majzar, Budbadah, and Harib Al-Qaramish districts.
Additionally, a protest was held in Shara'b al-Salam district in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, in solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning the ongoing Israeli massacres in Gaza.
These demonstrations follow a call from the leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, for massive rallies in Sana’a and other provinces, as emphasized in his speech yesterday. Al-Houthi reiterated Yemen’s unwavering support for Palestine, stressing that the Yemeni people's sense of responsibility will not diminish.
It is worth noting that the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Yahya Saree will be making a statement during the Friday protests in light of the beginning of the fourth stage of operations amid escalating confrontations following the Israeli occupation's expanding offensive in Rafah.
Yemen using weapons that can reach Mediterranean: Pentagon official
A senior US defense official has revealed that the Yemeni Armed Forces possess weaponry capable of reaching the Mediterranean Sea, supporting the movement's announcement of expanding its shipping operations beyond its immediate vicinity.
Concerns within the US government center around the YAF's ability to extend their strikes from the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to the Mediterranean. The official, speaking anonymously, highlighted the YAF's access to advanced armaments, emphasizing their use of anti-ship ballistic missiles, which is highly unusual, along with drone attacks.
