The English Premier League Approves Ronaldo's Number 7 at Manchester United!
Manchester United announces that Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the number 7.
Manchester United announced that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the number 7. The jersey was originally worn by Ronaldo during his first stay at United.
Edinson Cavani, the Uruguayan star that wore number 7 since joining the Manchester giants, will now wear the number 21.
"Manchester United can confirm that Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic no.7 shirt after returning to Old Trafford," the club said in a statement.
The statement added that "In his first six seasons at the club, between 2003 and 2009, Ronaldo made 292 appearances and scored 118 goals, winning 9 trophies including 3 Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League."
It is worthy to mention that Ronaldo, the best player in the world five times, wore the number 7 before transferring to the Spanish side Real Madrid. The same number was also worn by many United legends, including Eric Cantona and David Beckham.
