Abramovich attempting to buy Valencia: Reports
Spanish club Valencia owner claims Russian businessman Roman Abramovich has offered a bid to buy the club.
Chelsea's Russian owner Roman Abramovich has made a bid to buy Spanish club Valencia, alleged Miguel Zorio - another potential buyer for the club - reported the Mirror.
Last month, Abramovich put Chelsea up for sale. However, he will not be receiving any money from any upcoming deal due to sanctions on him imposed by the UK government over the war in Ukraine.
According to Zorio - who is offering a €248m ($270) bid - Valencia's current owner, Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, claimed that he received an offer from Abramovich.
Zorio revealed that "Peter Lim has tried to sell the club in London for €250 million ($272.5m) and has not succeeded."
"Lately, he has leaked to international media that he has two purchase offers, mine and that of the Russian oligarch of Chelsea," he indicated.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is in need of new ownership as soon as possible following the UK government’s sanctions on Abramovich’s assets.
It is noteworthy that Barclays bank has suspended the club's bank account, which will probably cause Chelsea to face financial instability between now and summer due to the ongoing situation.
