Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol achieves a historic victory in its first Champions League match.

On Wednesday, Moldovan champion, FC Sheriff Tiraspol won a historic victory over Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, with two goals to none, in the first round of Group D in the Champions League.
Adama Traore scored Sheriff's first goal in the 16th minute, as his colleague Momo Yasani added the second goal in the 62nd minute.

With this victory, the Moldovan club topped group D with 3 points, pending the result of the match between Italy's Inter Milan and Spain's Real Madrid, today, Wednesday (22:00 Al Quds time).
It is worth mentioning that Sheriff Tiraspol is the first Moldovan team to compete in the Champions League. It dominates the local league and has won 19 out of the last 21 possible titles. The team represents the city of Tiraspol; the capital of the separatist Transnistria region.
