Golden State Warriors defeat Boston Celtics, gain 4th NBA title
Steph Curry of the Warriors was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after scoring 34 points in the game.
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 103-90 on Thursday night to win their fourth NBA championship since 2015.
It is the team's seventh NBA championship in franchise history. Steph Curry of the Warriors was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after scoring 34 points in the game, becoming the 11th NBA player to be named Finals and All-Star Game MVP.
This the fourth NBA championship won by Curry and teammates Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
During celebrations on the court after the Warriors lifted the championship trophy, Curry said, as quoted by AP: “We found a way to just get it done.
"It’s part of a championship pedigree, our experience. ... We built this for 10-11 years. That means a lot when you get to this stage."
