Julyana Al-Sadeq tops World Kyorugi Rankings in Taekwondo for her weight category, making her the first Jordanian and Arab female to hold that title.

The 28-year-old Al-Sadeq increased her points from 303.00 in December 2022 to 400.88 points in 2023 and dethroned French bronze medalist Magda Wiet-Henin, who trailed 18.94 points behind her.

The Taekwondo player ranks first in the World Kyorugi Ranking for the women's -67 kg weight category after having risen 4 places since last year.

In the Olympic Kyorugi Rankings, Al-Sadeq has also risen by 4 places, however, that was not enough. The Jordanian still has work to do as Wiet-Henin remains in a more advanced placement with 395.94 points while Al-Sadeq has 384.88.

In an Instagram post, Al-Sadeq wrote "Praise be to God...my lead to the international ranking as the first Arab woman in the history of taekwondo." Al-Sadeq also thanked both her coach Faris Al-Assaf and the Jordanian Taekwondo Federation for their efforts and continued support.
