Yemeni wrestler quits Grand Prix de France for having to face Israeli
Freestyle wrestler of the Yemen national wrestling team announced his withdrawal after his name was drawn to face an Israeli wrestler in the French Grand Prix freestyle wrestling competition.
The player of the Yemen national wrestling team, Ibrahim Al-Shabami, withdrew from the 2023 Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane held in France.
The withdrawal of the representative of Yemen in freestyle wrestling came after he was placed to compete against an Israeli player, Daniel Popov, after he won in the first confrontations of the tournament against a French player.

The coach of the national team player, Muhammad Al-Sahbani, expressed his regret that the wrestler Al-Shabami did not continue after his victory over the French player before his name was drawn to face the Israeli player.
Al-Sahbani explained that the player is sad about losing the opportunity to qualify and snatching an important medal for Yemen in a major tournament such as the Grand Prix, pointing out that compensation will be in upcoming tournaments, in light of the capabilities the Yemeni player possesses that qualifies him to compete in various tournaments.
