Trump used his platform to criticize the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) following the raid and to reveal new information. He was also the first to reveal that the FBI had raided his Florida home.
Truth Social topped the Apple App Store charts in April after many of the application's technical issues were resolved, resulting in the first significant increase in downloads since its initial release.
Trump's app debuted in the Apple Store in February 2022, following Trump's permanent ban from Twitter following the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
In the first two weeks following the official launch of Truth Social on February 21, 2022, there were approximately 2 million downloads on the Apple App Store in the United States.
Truth Social is marketed as an alternative social media platform to major tech platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
Trump created the platform after several of his Twitter posts received flags from the platform for being misleading or containing false information. Following the 2020 election and the Capitol attack, he was banned from Twitter indefinitely for repeated violations.
Many of the former President's ardent supporters abandoned Twitter in favor of Truth Social.
