China to Pose a New Stealth Fighter
Chinese officials have teased the appearance of the new carrier jet at the Zhuhai air show.
China will reveal new progress on its next-generation aircraft carrier-based fighter jet this year at the ongoing Airshow China 2021 in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province.
The FC-31 is said to become the country's next-generation carrier-based fighter since its flight performance debut at the Airshow China 2014, knowing that this aircraft made its first flight on October 31, 2012
If the FC-31 prototype is upgraded to suit the needs of carrier operation, it could be a top option for China's next-generation carrier-based fighter jet.
Developed as a fifth-generation fighter jet aimed at fulfilling the demands of future warfare and having delivered a flight performance at the 2014 edition of the Airshow China, the made-for-export FC-31 again made its appearance this year.
A scale model of the FC-31 is displayed at an entrance of the exhibition hall of the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), together with models of a PL-15E very-long-range air-to-air missile, a PL-10E short-range air-to-air missile, and an LS-6/250 precision glide bomb.

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced that China is expected to launch a new generation of a super heavy-lift launcher in 2028, which will be powerful enough to send a manned spacecraft to the moon.
Foreign experts believe that its design borrowed technical solutions previously used on the American F-22 and F-33 fifth-generation fighters. Meanwhile, the FC-31 took off on two Russian RD-93 engines with a thrust of 8,618 kg, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Its mass can reach 28,000 kg, with a combat load of 5,900 kg, a maximum speed of 2,150 km/hr, a one-pilot crew, and a combat radius of 1,250 km.
In addition to the internal compartments designed for air-to-air missiles, weapons, including those intended for strikes against ground and surface targets, can be hung on external nodes.
