    Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.

Elon Musk, in a tweet, revealed that he plans to "vote Republican, "warning of "political attacks" on him as part of the billionaire's series of controversial tweets.

In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party.

But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.

Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold … 🍿

This comes directly after his shocking announcement earlier this week that he's reconsidering the $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, as he needed 'further data' on fake accounts to make a decision - just after that, Twitter's shares plunged 17% while Tesla's shares rose 5%.

Analysis suggests that Tesla seeks to back out of its takeover plans to buy the company at a lower price.

Musk, according to his tweets, is buying Twitter to "own the libs", although he brands his Twitter purchase with the creation of a 'free' platform.

The SpaceX founder warned on Wednesday that there will be escalating political attacks in the coming months, emphasizing that he will not be supporting Democrats because they are the party of "division" and "hate." He claims to be politically "moderate," saying that for a long time, he was a Democrat supporter but now he will be backing Republicans.

He accused Biden of snubbing Tesla - after moving his company headquarters from California to Texas, where the latter does not require state income tax.

Furthermore, Musk is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission for not reporting his 5% share in Twitter when he should have, according to the Wall Street Journal. The delay saved him millions.
