Google Pixel 6 can now track your heart and respiratory rate.
With Google's update of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro with Adaptive Sound, the vanilla model now has additional features such as heart rate and respiratory tracking support provided by Google Fit, which was revealed in March.
You can now monitor your heartbeat and watch your breathing rate by using the smartphone's camera and flash; the latter is essential to improve lighting while measuring heart rate and looking for changes in your finger's color, but it may be less useful on the Pixel 6 pair due to the distance between the camera and the flash.
That said, the option to utilize the flashlight on the Pixel 6 is currently unavailable, which is not surprising given that the function is still in early access, and Google says it's "being fine-tuned and may be removed."
9to5Google reports that the heart rate monitoring feature on the Pixel 6 proved accurate and matched the accuracy of the Pixel 5 and a Fitbit tracker. However, one reading proved otherwise.
It is worth mentioning that even though the respiratory measurement on the Pixel 6 worked fine, users should not rely on them for medical diagnosis.
