Indian Govt Warns Against Purchasing Elon Musk's Internet
Starlink is not authorized to operate in India yet, and the government is issuing a warning against purchasing its services.
The Indian government issued a warning for its citizens not to subscribe to Elon Musk's satellite internet service, Starlink, as it is not licensed to operate yet.
SpaceX, through which pre-orders are made for their upcoming high-speed, low latency internet service, has been barred from doing so.
Starlink is a division of SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturing giant which yet does not have the authorization to operate in India.
In a governmental statement on Friday, it was reported that Starlink was ordered to comply with India's regulations and avoid "booking/rendering the satellite internet services in India with immediate effect."
According to the government, Starlink has started selling its services since its registration. It registered its business in India on November 1, 2021.
Starlink did not comment yet on the matter.
