LetMeSpy Android Spyware shut down after data breach
Existing customers can email [email protected] by September 30 to request access if they want to get into their accounts and voluntarily remove their personal information.
LetMeSpy, a well-known Android spyware service provider, has formally declared its closure since it was unable to recover from the data breach this June.
On June 21, an unidentified threat group infiltrated the website of the well-known spy app provider, stole all the confidential personal data, and simultaneously deleted LetMeSpy's server. The information that was taken includes email addresses of users (used for service login), call logs, SMS message content, location information of users of devices on which the LetMeSpy program is installed, and contacts.
"Due to the data security incident that took place on June 21, 2023, access to User Accounts was blocked, for security reasons. After that date, the LetMeSpy service was disabled, as well as the option to log into User Accounts and register new User Accounts on the site," a notice on the LetMeSpy website said.

The company, which is based in Poland, is currently closed to new registrations. Existing customers can email [email protected] to request access if they want to get into their accounts and voluntarily remove their personal information. The closing date is scheduled for September 30, 2023. On August 31, though, the LetMeSpy website and service will be completely shut down.
On the Android platform, LetMeSpy is a well-known spyware application. Although user privacy campaigners criticized it, it was widely used since it allowed parents and employers to monitor the incoming and outgoing calls and texts on the phones of children and employees.
It was intended to be concealed and only accessible by the person who installed it once it was put on the user's phone. Spouses who had trust difficulties with their partners and wanted to know who they were frequently interacting with frequently abused this secrecy feature. Even parents used the software to monitor their adolescent children's after-school and online activities.
