We tested our first solid fuel space rocket: General Hajizadeh
The commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announces that his country has tested a solid-fuel carrier rocket engine.
The commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, revealed that the IRGC tested last week "the first satellite carrier rocket engine operating on solid fuel."
"The structure of the new missile is made of composite and non-metallic materials, which reduces costs and increases the missile's performance," Hajizadeh said.
He pointed out that only 4 countries in the world possess this technology, stressing that his country "has reached an advanced level in space technologies and the manufacture of satellite-carrying missiles," adding that "terrorism, threats, and sanctions can no longer influence it."
On December 30, a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Defense's Space Force announced the launch of the Simorgh satellite carrier with 3 shipments of scientific and research equipment on board.
