'Shame on Gal Gadot': Pro-Palestine protesters on Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Israeli actress Gal Gadot, a former IOF soldier and vocal supporter of "Israel", amid intensifying Israeli airstrikes on Gaza that have killed over 426 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 600 in less than 48 hours. The demonstration, met with a heavy police presence, underscores growing global outrage over the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and Gadot’s vocal support for it. According to Variety, protesters held signs reading “Heroes Fight Like Palestinians,” “Viva Viva Palestina,” and “No Other Land Won Oscar,” referencing the documentary on Israeli incursions in the occupied West Bank that won Best Documentary this month. Footage shared on X by Variety reporter Katcy Stephan showed demonstrators chanting “Shame on Gal Gadot.” Another clip captured multiple individuals handcuffed by police. The crowd also chanted, “Up, up with liberation! Down, down with occupation!"
