'This is Liberation Day' says Trump as he announces reciprocal global tariffs
On April 2, US President Donald Trump announced a myriad of "reciprocal" tariffs on countries and entities worldwide, including China, Venezuela, Vietnam, Taiwan, the European Union, and "Israel". He accused foreign leaders of stealing American "jobs, foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories, and foreign scavengers have torn apart our once beautiful American dream." "We had an American dream that you don't hear so much about," Trump said. Stressing that the tariffs are "reciprocal," he further explained, " That means they do it to us, and we do it to them. Very simple. It can't get any simpler than that."
