After returning from a two-month medical mission in Gaza, Dr. Mohammed Tahir, a peripheral nerve, trauma, and upper limb surgeon, described what he had witnessed in the Gaza Strip as an "outright genocide" being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation. He recalled seeing "the killing and maiming of women, and children, and innocent men," as well as having to "choose between which children live and which children die." During his mission, which lasted for 59 consecutive days, Dr. Tahir performed 290 life-saving surgeries and visited several hospitals across Gaza.
