2006 July War on Lebanon: Hezbollah defeats 'Israel'
On this day, 18 years ago, during the 2006 July War on Lebanon, Hezbollah delivered a significant military defeat, inflicted sheer humiliation on the Israeli entity, and shattered its "invincibility" as it was overwhelmed by the Lebanese Resistance, which at the time only possessed modest capabilities. On July 12, 2006, after failed negotiations for the release of Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners held by "Israel", the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon initiated Operation Truthful Promise by capturing two Israeli occupation soldiers. Immediately, "Israel" waged a 33-day aggressive war on Lebanon, where it launched around 7,000 missiles, including cluster bombs, devastating Lebanon's civilian infrastructure and causing immense civilian casualties. It also led to the displacement of 1 million civilians and a severe economic downturn for Lebanon.
