Al Mayadeen inside Georges Abdallah's house

On July 17, after 41 years behind bars, Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, the longest-held political prisoner in Europe and a steadfast symbol of anti-imperialist resistance, was finally granted release by the French judiciary, with his freedom scheduled for July 25. Originally from al-Qoubaiyat in northern Lebanon, Abdallah is expected to return to his hometown. In anticipation of his release, Al Mayadeen visited his modest family home, where hopes are high that he will soon be welcomed back.
