Beirut overflows with mourners as they bid farewell to Sayyed Hassan, Sayyed Hashem
From the early hours of dawn, tens of thousands of mourners flooded the streets of Beirut, converging on Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium to pay their final respects to Sayyed Hassan and Sayyed Hashem. By 6:00 AM, the stadium was already packed, with many having spent the night outside to secure a place at the historic funeral. With over 100,000 attendees expected in the venue, the sheer scale of the gathering extends far beyond the venue, spilling into surrounding streets where massive crowds continue to arrive. High-ranking political and religious figures from across the region will join the sea of mourners, underscoring the immense legacy of the two leaders in the Resistance movement and beyond. Large screens have been installed along the procession route, while dozens of tents to accommodate visitors and participants have been set up along the streets leading to the funeral site.
