Eid al-Adha shrouded in sorrow: Gaza mourns in the wake of 'Israel's' war
In the wake of "Israel's" war on Gaza, Eid al-Adha arrived amid pervasive sorrow and agony, especially as the closure of the Karem Abu Salem and Rafah crossings exacerbates the looming threat of famine in the Gaza Strip, particularly in its northern regions. Our correspondent reported a notable absence of joy throughout Gaza, with most shops closed, as many of them had been destroyed by Israeli occupation forces. He also noted the glaring absence of the traditional Eid sacrifice ritual, as the people are left with nothing to buy cattle to sacrifice. Highlighting the role of charitable organizations and societies, our correspondent mentioned that they are purchasing and distributing sacrifices as part of their humanitarian aid efforts. Against the backdrop of destruction, the people of Gaza have resorted to performing Eid prayers on the ruins of their homes and mosques, such as the al-Omari Mosque.
