Heated Oval Office argument between Zelensky, Trump and Vance
In a tense Oval Office meeting, US President Donald Trump clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of “gambling with World War III” and showing insufficient gratitude for US support. The heated exchange, which derailed discussions on a minerals deal, saw Trump demand that Zelensky “make a deal or we’re out.” US Vice President JD Vance also confronted Zelensky, criticizing Ukraine’s handling of the war, accusing Zelensky of disrespect and misleading visitors by taking them on "propaganda tours," and questioning his diplomatic approach. In response, Zelensky challenged the US stance, saying, “What kind of diplomacy, JD, you ask again about?" and noting that Vance had never visited Ukraine. Moreover, Zelensky then said that every country at war had problems and the US would likely feel that some day too. Trump cut in and said Zelensky was "in no position to dictate what we're going to feel." The meeting ended with no signed agreement.
