Historic moments of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi
Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi's presidency was not only defined by his historic moments on the global stage but also by the impact of his leadership on Iran's domestic affairs. Throughout his tenure, Raisi deepened and developed Iran's international and regional relations in areas such as trade, security, and cultural exchange, despite the pressure campaign imposed by Trump's administration, which was continued by his successor President Joe Biden. Furthermore, Raisi's administration worked to expand its international trade partnerships, particularly with countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with trade agreements and economic cooperation initiatives pursued to diversify the country's economic relationships. In July 2023, Iran became a permanent member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), marking a new stage of cooperation with members of the Eurasian organization. Iran also joined the BRICS.
