Iran's international power: How strategic alliances defied the US

The winner of Iran’s presidential election may be facing an economy crippled by sanctions, but one thing is for sure: He'll inherit a unique strength: Iran’s international power. Despite decades of Western pressure, Iran's strategic alliances with Russia, China, some African countries, as well as Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq have bolstered its influence and posed a significant threat to US interests in the Middle East. Under the leadership of Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iran has navigated US economic sanctions, strengthened its military footprint, and pursued a long-term strategy of "forward defense." In light of the above, a question poses itself: How close are we to a new multipolar order and the downfall of the US?
