Iraq's parliamentary election 2025: Who's in, who's out
With Iraq’s parliamentary elections less than a month away, the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has disqualified more than 800 candidates and reinstated candidate Sajad Salem, a member of al-Badil Coalition. The Commission also announced that over 1.5 million biometric voter cards have been distributed nationwide since September 2024, with around 3.5 million still pending. Al Mayadeen English's Siraj Ghassani reports from Baghdad on how the country’s top election bodies are racing to secure a fair, streamlined process ahead of the November 11 vote.
