Israeli police shove Yair Golan, use water cannon on protesters outside Netanyahu’s home
Hundreds of Israelis gathered in occupied al-Quds to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government's plan to oust Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. As demonstrators rallied outside Netanyahu’s residence, Israeli police violently dispersed them using a water cannon. Moreover, Yair Golan, head of the opposition Democrats party, was seen in a video being thrown to the ground by a police officer. According to Israeli media, lawmaker Gilad Kariv, from Yair Golan's party, warned that opposition leaders could be next "if they do not stand against the takeover of the police and alongside the protesters." He also accused Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s police of crossing "another red line" by "deliberately harming members of Knesset [Israeli parliament] and political leaders to prevent them from exercising their rights as public representatives and standing with the protesters."
