Izvestia celebrates 80 years of victory by reprinting historic May 9, 1945 edition

In a monumental gesture for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, Russian news agency Izvestia reissued one of its most emotional prints, originally published on May 9, 1945. The move serves to commemorate Victory Day as not just a celebration, but as a continued legacy of triumph. Over 200,000 prints were distributed to museums and centers across the country. Journalists covering Victory Day, including Al Mayadeen’s correspondents, were also gifted the special print.
