A Jewish passenger on an American Airlines flight accused a flight attendant of being "anti-Semitic" for wearing a watermelon pin badge, a symbol associated with Palestinian solidarity. The altercation, which took place on a Miami-bound plane, was captured on video and widely shared on social media. The video shows the passenger angrily accusing the flight attendant of supporting "terrorism" and preventing him from leaving the aircraft due to his Jewish identity. "You support terrorism, you are anti-Semitic," he shouted. "Why are you stopping me from leaving the plane? Is it because I’m Jewish?" The flight attendant and her colleague told the man he was not allowed to record them, citing US aviation regulations, and accused him of physical contact. The passenger claimed he was held on the plane until he deleted the footage and was eventually escorted off by police. However, he insisted he had contacted the authorities himself.
