Lawrence Korb addresses Gaza ceasefire talks, US role in deterring Iran

In an exclusive interview for Al Mayadeen, Lawrence Korb, a former US Assistant Secretary of Defense, revealed that Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant is at odds with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in handling "Israel's" war on Gaza. Korb explained that Gallant advocates for a ceasefire agreement between "Israel" and H-am-as, possibly to be brokered in Cairo this week with the involvement of the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. Moreover, he emphasized that total victory is unattainable for "Israel" regardless of "how long this war lasts or how many people "Israel" kills." As for the United States' increased military presence in the region and its deployment of a new carrier with F-35C fighters, Korb stressed that it is a military strategy aimed at deterring Iran and securing "Israel's" existence.
