Netanyahu nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize
US President Donald Trump has once again been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally handed Donald Trump a letter he claimed to have submitted to the Nobel Committee, recommending the US president for the award. Trump has previously been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by various US and international figures, including a group of House Republicans in 2018 and two Norwegian lawmakers in 2020. In June 2025, Pakistan also announced its intention to nominate Trump for his role in mediating a recent conflict between India and Pakistan. However, the move sparked political backlash, with a senator from the conservative Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) party submitting a formal resolution calling for the nomination to be withdrawn.
