Palestinian detainees freed from Ofer prison in exchange deal arrive in Ramallah

As part of the ceasefire agreement that ended "Israel's" war on Gaza, Palestinian families have embraced their detained and imprisoned fathers, sons, brothers, mothers, daughters, and sisters during today's fourth round of prisoner-captive exchange. A total of 183 Palestinian detainees are set to be released in exchange for Israeli captives who were freed earlier in the morning. Nahed Al-Fakhouri, head of media at the Martyrs, Prisoners, and Wounded Affairs Office, revealed that this round includes the release of 18 Palestinian detainees serving life sentences, 54 detainees with long-term or life sentences, and 111 Gazans detained after October 7, 2023. Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent noted that Palestinian detainees from the occupied West Bank were forcibly transferred to Gaza as a step toward their deportation abroad.
