Police arrest chair of the Philosophy Department at Emory University
More than a dozen pro-Palestine protesters were arrested at Emory University Thursday morning, including Noelle McAfee, the chair of the Philosophy Department. According to organizers, protesters were demanding a “total divestment from Israeli apartheid and Cop City.” In response to the violent arrests that unfolded on campus, Gerald Griggs, Georgia NAACP's President, posted on X that he’s requesting a meeting with the President of Emory University “to discuss the events on the campus as soon as possible.” Emory University joins a growing list of campuses across the United States, where intense protests against "Israel's" war on Gaza have erupted.
