Police violently arrest pro-Palestine protesters in Berlin

Around 150 pro-Palestine protesters joined the call of "Student Coalition Berlin" and set up dozens of tents on The Free University of Berlin campus. Students from all over German universities in Berlin joined the protest, carried Palestine's flag, held banners that bore messages such as "Decolonization is not a metaphor," and chanted slogans in support of Gaza and Rafah. Reuters reported that more than 25 police cars arrived at the protest and violently dispersed the protesters. The pro-Palestine demonstrators demanded the withdrawal of criminal charges against students and non-students for their stance on the Israeli war on Gaza and their public opposition to the Senates' political reforms in Berlin. They also sought a ban on police presence on campus and the reinstatement of academics and staff expelled or defunded due to their pro-Palestine stances.
