Protests in Syria against Netanyahu's interference in affairs
In Daraa, Syria, a large demonstration took place in condemnation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statements regarding southern Syria and in rejection of any interference in the country's internal affairs. A large demonstration also took place Tuesday in the al-Karama Square in central Suwayda, Syria, with the participation of professional, trade, and local community groups. Similarly, the city of Aleppo witnessed a public gathering in Saadallah al-Jabiri Square in protest against Netanyahu’s recent remarks. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu called for the demilitarization of south Syria, due to rising "security concerns" over the presence of "hostile forces near Israel's borders," adding, "We will not allow forces of the HTS or the new Syrian army to enter the territory south of Damascus."
