Speaking at a US-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) meeting in Riyadh, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He also urged the international community against using "aid as a card" in "Israel's" war on Gaza, as well as taking a clear stance against "the Israeli occupation's violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy." On his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, stressed "the need for the international community to adopt effective policies and measures to stop the escalation and acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank."
