Samir’s future shattered by a detonated Israeli drone in his home, Gaza

Samir Zaqqout, an 11-year-old from Gaza, was playing safely at home when an Israeli drone detonated, changing his life forever. Hours later, he woke up in a hospital bed to a reality no child should ever face. Both his hand and leg were amputated, and he suffered a skull fracture, internal perforations in his abdomen, and injuries all over his body. Samir has one wish, "I wish I could get prosthetics so I could play like other kids, write like other kids, and learn like other kids." His mother further appealed to "the whole world to help facilitate his travel, to provide him with prosthetics."
